Naracoorte Cricket Club (Juniors)
By Mary McClure The Naracoorte Cricket Club provides an inclusive environment for girls and boys to learn the fundamentals of cricket. Junior programs include Junior and Master Blasters through to Under 14 Wednesday night and Saturday morning competitions. Exposure to Representative cricket is also offered to various age groups. Experienced and passionate local coaches welcome anyone wanting to learn how to play cricket and the Club welcomes volunteers. ‘The News Gives Back’ campaign will ensure the Club can continue to provide its junior members with the equipment and resources required to ensure the sports longevity in the area. Lucindale Campdraft Association
By Selena Irvin The Lucindale Campdraft Association has been operating since 2001, and over the years we not only hold an annual Campdraft, we also host approximately 2-4 clinics as well as hire our grounds to be utilised for regular events for other community groups such as the Lucindale Area School, The Mid-South-East Dressage Club, and the Show society. The Lucindale Campdraft Club and grounds are home to family friendly, community orientated events that we are proud to be a part of. In 2022, the Lucindale Campdraft Club hosted an annual Youth Clinic for junior riders and competitors to participate in learning about the sport of Campdrafting and Horsemanship. We had families from across South Australia, Victoria and Lower New South Wales attend this event. The Lucindale Campdraft Club is looking at building a Children’s Play Area including a sand pit with toys for the children attending events such as […]
Naracoorte Branch of Embroiderers’ Guild of SA
By Kaye Beauchamp The Naracoorte Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild was very grateful to receive your previous donation. The money was put towards subsidising the costs of bringing a Guild tutor to run a workshop for our members in November. Carol Mullan was the tutor, and she taught “Counted Sashiko”. This is a technique which uses very simple stitches, but the patterns created can be quite complex. Another workshop is planned for March this year, to learn a different embroidery technique. In June last year our branch celebrated its 40th birthday, with a lunch for current and past members. We also invited members of the Executive Committee from Adelaide and members from Mt. Gambier branch to help us celebrate. Our group meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at the Old Schoolroom behind the Sheep’s Back Museum, starting at 9.30 am. The first meeting this year will be held […]
