Melbourne Cup day pairs

On November 4, the Naracoorte Bowling Club held their annual Melbourne Cup C. A. Koch Memorial Pairs. Ten pairs competed in windy and wet weather, one game of 14 ends of 2,4,2, was completed before lunch. Venturing out for the second game of three bowl pairs, the weather turned very wet and we had to disband play half way through the game, luckily enough ends were played to declare prize winners. In fourth place was Don Mitton and Warwick Dew, third was Trevor Pahl and Chris Bowden, runners-up were Wayne and Kaye Hawthorne, and Ron Garton and Terry Mahney won the day. Thank you to the Koch family for your sponsorship which has been ongoing for many years.
