Squash Spring Pennant: Round 1

By Jenny Dickenson. Naracoorte Squash Club commenced their Spring Pennant last Wednesday night with 8 teams of 5 and it was great to see so many new and returning players to squash and we welcome all players for the new pennant. There were some long and great games on the first night ensuring it will be an interesting 12 weeks. Andrew and Jack also had a long and very close 5-set match with Andrew getting 2 more points 63-61 although Jack won the final set 17-15 […]

KNT Preliminary Final action.

2023 A Grade Preliminary Final – Mundulla v Kingston

By Barb Altus. In the closest Preliminary Final in living memory, Kingston won their way into their first Grand Final in the KNT and their first since 2000 with a behind scored after extra time. Mundulla started well when, after minor scores by each team, Mundulla’s Grosser and McGrice forced the ball to Studham who wheeled and goaled two minutes in. After another two behinds by the Saints and determined defence by Gambranis their Captain Tom Rogers directed the ball to Harding who passed to Warner who kicked truly to give Kingston the lead fourteen minutes in. The Tigers levelled the score with two more minor scores before Kuchel and Ballinger drove the ball to Noll who snapped accurately to retake the lead. The Moots kept attacking but only managed another three minor scores, including one shot which hit the post, before the Saints also registered a behind after the […]

By Georgia Gill. Second Semi Final: Saturday 2nd September 2023: Div 1 – Penola 49 d Kingston 41. The two in form sides of the Division One competition delivered the high quality game that everyone thought they would with Penola taking a slight lead at quarter time. Despite Kingston winning the final quarter, it was not enough to stop Penola as they finished winners by eight goals, 49 to 41, booking their spot in the Grand Final. Div 2 – Border Districts 49 d Naracoorte 30. With Naracoorte delivering Borders their only loss for the season, the Div 2 game started as evenly as […]
