Stand Like Stone Foundation was established in 2004 by a group of very forward thinking community minded people from across the region. We’re a not-for-profit organisation that provides funds to all Limestone Coast communities, through grants and scholarships. All donations received by Stand Like Stone are pooled and invested for long term return.

St Johns Lutheran Church are grateful for The News Gives Back offer and it couldn’t have come at a better time as we are currently upgrading the entrance to the church. A new acoustic ceiling, new carpet, notice boards, paint and an art piece created and crafted by Erol Schenscher now takes pride of place at our entrance.

On Sunday, the 15th of October, the Apsley Angling Club held its annual AGM at Lake Bringalbert. There were 19 members present at the AGM and the Club members voted in new president, Anthony Taylor and new vice president, Nathan Pratt for the 2023/24 fishing season.

The Frances Progress Association is very appreciative of the Naracoorte News Give Back program. Money received will go towards upgrading the watering system at the Frances town square. Since its recent establishment, the town square provides a place to sit and eat for locals and visitors.

The Naracoorte Highland Pipe Band is a community favourite at many events in the South-East, performing regularly at Anzac Day in Naracoorte and Apsley, Christmas parades at Naracoorte, Lucindale, Kingston and Robe, and they continue to entertain the crowds at these functions. Some of the pipers and drummers are involved in a combined competition performance band, along with members from Mount Gambier and Horsham.
