By Nasik Swami. Daily, one in three patients requires blood in Naracoorte, and they need the public’s support to ensure there is enough supply. The Australian Red Cross Lifeblood says the demand for blood in Naracoorte and its surrounding towns was at its highest level in a decade and needed the community to make blood donation a regular, life-saving habit. Lifeblood spokesperson Zoe Ross told this newspaper that every blood donation or blood product made a huge difference to patients in need, saving up to three lives in a day. Ms Ross said that like the whole of Australia, blood and blood products were needed and used by patients in Naracoorte for surgery, people with blood disorders, women in childbirth, and people undergoing cancer treatment.
