The Padthaway Oval was in magnificent condition, and after a tight, low-scoring first quarter Mundulla took the lead in the second term which they extended with a strong third quarter and held on to win despite the Lions winning the last term. Padthaway scored first but their shot was touched for a point, then the Tigers’ Packer and Davies worked the ball into attack where McGrice snapped accurately. The Lions’ next attacks resulted in minor scores despite good work by Ficken, Holtzbauer, and Green. Mundulla attacked again with King, Ridgway, and Phillips prominent, and Jaeschke and Hinge drove the ball forward where Wiese marked under pressure and kicked truly.
