The Naracoorte Garden Club’s most senior member, Mavis Billing, recently celebrated her 99th birthday. As a young nurse she helped to deliver our current president, Pat Gericke. Despite her age, she still resides in her home of four decades, nurturing her vibrant colourful garden, with very little outside help.

The Naracoorte Lucindale Council’s revised Public Consultation and Community Engagement Policy has come under the spotlight. The policy was up for debate at the council’s April 23 meeting. Cr Abigail Goodman requested that the council defer the adaptation of the policy, which was an important document that incorporated public feedback on important decisions.

A moving Anzac Day dawn service was held in Naracoorte to remember fallen soldiers and service people on April 25. Mayor Patrick Ross described the service “as amazing”. “This being my first Naracoorte service, I was in anticipation of a great community event.

A NEW Naracoorte Police Station and a Region 5 CFS Headquarters located at 31 Smith St would be better than the property being sold by the SA Government. That was the suggestion of Naracoorte Lucindale Council CEO Trevor Smart in a report to the council’s February 27 meeting.
