Influenza cases are on the rise, and health authorities have called on the public to get vaccinated to protect themselves and the community against the “potentially serious disease”. According to SA Health, there have been 1,921 notified cases of influenza in South Australia this year, compared to 1,255 for the same period last year.

And Health Minister Chris Picton expects to hear from a working group regarding nursing services at Lucindale “by the end of this month”.

A trip to the doctor is expected to soar by an extra $12 per visit under a State Government bid to claw payroll tax out of independent GP clinics. Following a brief amnesty, the extra $12 charges for GP visits will go straight into State Government coffers.

Cattle numbers nearly doubled with 851 yarded. Quality was mostly good with pens of well presented cattle through the offering. The regular buying group were in attendance and operated keenly in a mostly dearer market.
