Three community groups will receive funding boosts for a range of projects, including security, lighting, and a SA Rural Women’s Gathering event in Robe, through the District Council of Robe’s Community Assistance Fund. Whist Council’s Community Assistance Fund grant program has $10,000 available this year, only three eligible applications were received, resulting in Council only allocating 60% of this amount to the local community groups.

Naracoorte RSL Pennant results

Round 17 of open Saturday pennant saw Naracoorte RSL play Millicent Blue in Division 1 and Millicent in Division 3 at home last weekend. With Division 1, Ryan O’Shaughnessy, David O’Shaughnessy, Dean Cazzolato and Lindy Mark dominated all afternoon against Peter Scanlon and took an easy win of 35 shots to 13 at the end of the game.

In very warm conditions on Sunday 11th. Feb the ladies started their Bordertown championship singles. The first round saw B. Pepper d. G. Tink 21-8; J. Vanderhorst d. J. Tink 21-19 J. Lack f. J. Marshall, J. Wiese f. K. Creaser. Second round B. Pepper d. J. Marshall 23-3, J. Vanderhorst won on a forfeit after playing 23 ends against K. Creaser 19-15.

A solid crowd, a home-town win and a successful day – with the promise of more ahead – were the take-home messages from the 2024 Naracoorte Racing Club’s cup meeting, held last Sunday week. Around 1000 people attended the club’s biggest meeting of the year, which offered record overall prize money, including $40,000 alone for the 2000m MiniJumbuk Naracoorte Cup.

The Naracoorte Warriors left it to the last over of the last game of the year to seal an unlikely finals berth in Millicent and Naracoorte Cricket Association last Saturday. Going into the final round, any of three teams – Warriors, Mount Burr or Robe – could have taken the fourth finals spot.
