A REGIONAL CFS Breathing Apparatus training day will go ahead in May despite a $500,000 Christmas Day fire which destroyed the Regional Training Centre, at Menhennits Road, Wild Dog Valley. Fire investigators attended the site the day after Christmas. Region 5 CFS Regional operations manager Danny Crozier said the fire was deemed “not suspicious.”

Sunday 21st January the RBC Ladies and Men’s Pairs Championships were held. In the first round of the ladies pairs, Judy Bermingham and Helen Dawson def Bronwyn Matthews and Judy Phillips after Bronwyn and Judy led until the 11th end where the score was even, then Judy and Helen won the last end to win 17-14.

Australia Day was a time to reflect, respect and celebrate for around 100 people who gathered at Lucindale last Friday. The day fired up with the Lucindale Scouts raising the Australian Flag. Event emcees Domonic Carter and Logan Whitford of Lucindale Area School then introduced a previous Citizen of the Year winner, Naracoorte Lucindale Council mayor Patrick Ross.
