Naracoorte hosted the Tigers for their first game after the Christmas break. Ken Sisson pitched to Tom Paech for the first innings. Thanks to some great pitching and good fielding the Rangers were able to restrict the Tigers to one run. Naracoorte were not so lucky in the batting department.

Congratulations to Jeff Palmer, Serviceton Club winner of our Mixed 21 Up competition held Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th January. It was great to have fourteen players enter this competition with the preliminary rounds played Saturday morning. Sunday 14th the four finalists line up with Jenny Tink playing Karen Shawcross and Jeff Palmer playing Rick Miles.

Lucindale Station reopens 3 hours a week

FOR three hours per week, on Monday afternoons, the Lucindale community will have access to “partial front station services” at their local police station. Two months ago on November 16, Lucindale’s police officer Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig attended a call out to a property at Senior, north of Bordertown 120 kms away, and never returned home.

Robe Bowling Club has been enjoying a busy time. Thursday 21st December was the annual ham day sponsored by Valma and Errol Jennings. Twenty seven players played 2 games of 12 ends with 2×2 game winners. Runners up on 55 pts were Vic Dawson, Robbie Dahler and Peter Roachock.

Thanks Nasik Swami for the sage advice in your article ‘Switch it off’ (NEWS 13/12/23). Indeed! The best way to save on power bills is to switch off and save power. What puzzles me, is that in the story, nearly filling the second page of the paper, there was not one word about how to save power or save money on power bills.
