RECENT flash flooding in Naracoorte was the result of a new two-day rainfall record, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. The official two-day rainfall total in the 48 hours to 9am on November 25 was 117.8 mm.

Midweek pennant Robe travelled to Naracoorte and made the trip worthwhile, winning by 3 shots. Naracoorte 42 shots 2 points were defeated by Robe 45-6. Robbie Dahler, Josh Waddell, Errol Jennings and David Robinson defeated Ron Garton’s team 27-19 and Jim Gray, Pam Robinson, Steve Farrell and Stephen Kennett were defeated by Robert Kirkland’s team 23-18.

A Naracoorte thoroughbred with a personality all his own scored his 13th career win at Morphettville on Saturday, lifting his prizemoney tally to almost $400,000. The Sue Murphy-trained Hasta La Fiorente ploughed through the heavy track conditions to narrowly claim the 2500m benchmark 80 race – the seventh victory with jockey Dom Tourneur on his back.
