VISITING a room in honour of Tim Hughes MBE at the Lucindale Museum was a highlight for senior government minister Kyam Maher during the recent SA Country Cabinet visit. The room features stories and pictures of Mr Hughes, and an article written by his wife Eileen, along with references to other family members, including daughter Denise and son Paul.

Robe waives ship fees

Robe waives ship fees

AT least four passenger ships cruising into Robe will each have a daily fee of $140.70 waived by the District Council. The ships are expected within the next three years and by waiving the fee the council hopes to demonstrate its support for their visits.

Although it was a glorious Spring day, 24 ladies enjoyed playing a solid afternoon’s bridge.  Sandra Haynes and Sally Macdonald were winners in the N/S direction with an amazing 65.12% followed by Rosie Legoe and Jenny Clark with 59.60%.  E/W winners were Janneen Wishart and Sandi Lawrence with a creditable 62.54%.

After a cancellation of women’s last Friday due to heat, Naracoorte RSL and Districts Bowling Club had both Saturday divisions play away. Division 1 played against Millicent Red and had two rinks up and one down. Graham East, Chris Castine, Joe McGrath and Jeff East were the losing rink only managing 12 shots to Wayne Ross’s side 35.
