Lucindale Ladies Golf: 25th October 2023

Four seasons prevailed last Wednesday at Lucindale Ladies Closing Day, hail created havoc on the first green played but fortunately, it was short lived. We all enjoyed playing a nine-hole Stableford competition off the Orange markers, along with a bonus of one mulligan per hole (an extra stroke allowed after a poor poor shot, not counted on the scorecard).

On Tuesday, two teams of ladies travelled to Naracoorte R.S.L. and without mentioning names, Glenda, Chris, Judy and Jenny received the encouragement award amid much laughter and clapping. Bordertown Ladies hosted the pennant teams Thursday with Bordertown’s Belinda Pepper, Judy Vanderhorst, Glenda Tink and Jenny Marshall defeating Mundulla 31-24.

Cattle numbers at Naracoorte increased this week to 749 which was a lift of 105 head. Quality was mostly from good to average with pens of heavy grown cattle, a mixed selection of yearlings and younger cattle which did suit feeders, restockers and the processors.

Both Divisions of open pennant for Naracoorte RSL did not have good results on Saturday in the extremely windy conditions. Division 1 played at Mt Gambier RSL against the Blue side. Ryan O’Shaughnessy, Geoff Hurn, Dean Cazzolato and Lindy Mark played Rex Heins’ team and went down 13 shots to 31.
