North Parklands survey on hold

TO avoid possible duplication, no ratepayer cash will be spent on a biodiversity survey of Naracoorte’s North Parklands “until further notice” following an 8-2 vote. Instead, Naracoorte Lucindale Council will have workshops to decide what to do with the parklands, particularly the pines which will soon be due for harvesting.

Nurse Ali ‘saved my leg’

LUCINDALE’s Cheryl “Fitzy” Fitzgerald has only praise for the Lucindale nurse who three years ago saved her leg, and possibly her life. During a farming accident her leg was impaled on a gear stick of an old tractor. Taken to the Naracoorte Hospital, her wound was stitched and bandaged and the days flicked by.

Ambulance resourcing

When our lives are on the line, paramedics are our biggest heroes. And to ensure we have enough paramedics in Naracoorte to attend to the community’s growing demands, recruitment is underway of 24 additional staff to hit the roads this July, SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) confirmed. SAAS says they are recruiting paramedics to enhance response capacity in the Limestone Coast.
