Keith v Mundulla 22 July 2023
By Barb Altus The lead alternated multiple times during the very closely contested match before Mundulla retook the lead at the end of the third quarter and finished strongly to win by 28 points. After some minor scores the Tigers goaled first when Hinge and Stephan drove the ball to Guy who kicked truly, then Studham and King slammed the ball to Hinge whose banana kick from the boundary close to goal was accurate. McAuley, Innes, Bibby and Seb Schreiber were strong for Keith who replied when Wilson, McNeil and Colby Read worked the ball to Wade who made no mistake, and the Crows attacked repeatedly but only minor scores ensued before the Moots’ Noll and the Mosey brothers directed the ball to Hinge who kicked truly and at quarter-time Mundulla led 3-2-20 to 1-5-11. Keith goaled first in the second term when Innes and Hender forced the ball to […]
Footy report
The evenness of the KNTFL was underlined again on Saturday with some very close results and a near upset of the year. Bottom side Kybybolite led for most of the day before succumbing to top team Border Districts by just two goals in what would’ve been the upset of the year so far. Kyby led by 4 points at the last change but Borders’ class players stepped up when it mattered to win 12.6 to 10.6, with Mackenzie Bower kicking 4 goals and on-baller Mark Quinn 3. Mundulla powered away in the last quarter to have an important win over Keith. Mundulla led by only two points at the last change, but kicked four goals to none in the last quarter to win 13.10 to 8.12 and hold onto second spot on the ladder. James Hinge is running into some good form and kicked six goals for Mundulla, while Blake […]

Creek walk trees
Your Say: Robyn Hage I was very pleased to read Helen and Kingsley Baker’s article “Creek walk to nowhere” last week. I was walking the creek walk the day of planting, and it took 8 men to plant those hundreds of trees, obviously no one had any knowledge of the natives and grasses they were planting as besides being planted in the watercourse, they are planted far too close together. I believe if I walk that route this time next year, I will not see any alive. What a waste of time and money.
