By Georgia Gill. Div 1 – Kingston 41 d Naracoorte 35. Naracoorte started the better of the two sides in their clash with Kingston and held a slender three goal lead at quarter time. Some positional changes worked in Kingston’s favor as they regained momentum to be up by four at half time. Midwinter was pivotal for Naracoorte in the third quarter as they closed the gap to three goals at three quarter time. Stenner continued her dominance for Kingston as they held on to win by six goals, 41 to 35. Kingston will now play Penola next week. Div 2 – Keith 44 d Naracoorte 30. By Nasik Swami. The South Australian Education Union and the state government are still at loggerheads over better pay and conditions for public educators. Union president Andrew Gohl told this newspaper that the parties have not reached any agreement yet, and their executives “will determine whether industrial action is needed” again. If the union members vote for a second strike action, many public schools, including those in Naracoorte and the Limestone Coast region, would close for another day. An industrial action on September 1 resulted in the closure of over 160 public South Australian schools, with teachers protesting outside the South Australian Parliament. According to the Education Department, 167 of South Australia’s 927 public schools and pre-schools were closed or operating on a reduced program because of the strike.
