Last Saturday saw the fifth round of the U14 Hall Trophy commence. Last week’s game for all teams was washed out due to heavy downpours the day before. This week’s opponents for the Penola/Naracoorte U14’s were Gambier Centrals/West Gambier. The sky was overcast, outfield was dewy.

The 2023 South East Tennis Association Junior Singles Championships were played at Lucindale Country Club. 72 players enjoyed the lawn courts impressively prepared as always by Lucindale Country Club greenskeeper Don Thiele. Players, spectators and organisers enjoyed some beautiful tennis weather, finally, with blue skies and sunshine throughout the day.

No parking at ANZ site

NARACOORTE’S former ANZ Bank building will not be bought by the council, demolished, and turned into 41 public car parks.

Mayor Patrick Ross used his casting vote to squash the concept at Naracoorte Lucindale Council’s November 28 meeting when councillors were tied 5-5 over the issue.

Meanwhile, 17 private car parks at the site on 99 Smith St are no longer accessible to the public for parking.
