OSHC provider confirmed for Naracoorte

After months of uncertainty, Naracoorte parents have finally received some long-awaited good news, with an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provider confirmed for the town. Education minister Blair Boyer has confirmed to The News that Our Patch will become the new OSHC service provider at Naracoorte Primary School, with operations expected to commence from 19 January 2026. The confirmation brings relief to families who have faced limited childcare options, particularly during school holidays and outside standard school hours. Mr Boyer said the announcement was personally significant, acknowledging the critical role OSHC played for working families. “I know how important OSHC is for families, including my own family, who relies on the local OSHC service weekly,” he said. “I’m really pleased that Our Patch, who run a number of services in government primary schools, will be the new alternative OSHC provider in Naracoorte.” Mr Boyer said Our Patch was already working […]

Her photographic exhibition, ‘Long Exposure of Memory’, now on display until December 12, reveals striking beauty within decaying rubble and discarded objects—crystal glasses, comic books, clothing spilling from old suitcases—and the way buildings shift and weather with time, wind, and rain. Heather spent the past seven years capturing these fading memories in and around her hometown of Wudinna on the Eyre Peninsula, transforming remnants of the past into haunting and poetic works of art.

Sunrise students shine in ‘God Squad’ musical

The Sunrise Christian School Naracoorte delivered a sold-out musical spectacular on November 13, packing out the Town Hall for its 2025 production ‘God Squad’. The high-energy show followed a team of superheroes showcasing the “armour of God” from Ephesians 6:10–17, blending music, teamwork and colour in a performance dubbed a “super hit.” Principal Aaron Haines praised the students, leaders, staff and volunteers whose creativity and hard work brought the whole-school production to life.
