U14’s season-ending loss in Semi Final

Last weekend saw the first round of finals of the U14 Hall Trophy. Penola/Naracoorte came up against, first placed, South Gambier. Conditions at Frew Park were cloudy and cool, and both teams were ready for a good game. South won the toss and elected to bat.

For many years I have been researching the descendants of Duncan MacInnes, merchant of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, c1778-1832 and wife Margaret MacLean c1796-1853. 4 of their 7 children emigrated to Australia. Their 5th daughter, Margaret MacInnes 1827-1892, married Dr Alexander McDonald 1813-1891 in Scotland.

Elected councillor Cathy Langley of the Tatiara District Council has resigned from her position. The outspoken councillor, known for her community engagement work, resigned on January 31 last month. Council CEO Anne Champness said she received the written resignation, effective February 7, 2024.
