By Kaye Beauchamp The Naracoorte Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild was very grateful to receive your previous donation. The money was put towards subsidising the costs of bringing a Guild tutor to run a workshop for our members in November. Carol Mullan was the tutor, and she taught “Counted Sashiko”. This is a technique which uses very simple stitches, but the patterns created can be quite complex. Another workshop is planned for March this year, to learn a different embroidery technique. In June last year our branch celebrated its 40th birthday, with a lunch for current and past members. We also invited members of the Executive Committee from Adelaide and members from Mt. Gambier branch to help us celebrate. Our group meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at the Old Schoolroom behind the Sheep’s Back Museum, starting at 9.30 am.
