Your say: Joan Kester
I am having people voice their concerns and despair to me, and I feel I can no longer remain silent. So what is the problem, I hear you say? The problem is this – the meals that are being dished up and sent out from the Naracoorte Hospital Kitchen, to Meals on Wheels recipients.

Your Say: Lives at risk response
Your Say: Cliff Hignett, Naracoorte
I was driving down Smith St when the deer shooting association were having their BBQ outside the town hall! I did not realise I was so close to death! Chris Oldfield said that the BBQ patrons were at risk of being shot ‘by aerial mounted shotguns guided by military grade infrared vision systems.’

Your Say: Sport Centre Master Plan abandonment
Your Say: Damien Walker, NLC resident and rate payer
I’ve let myself settle after Monday night’s Sports Centre meeting. To start with, disappointment would be my most overwhelming feeling at the moment. With all sporting clubs and associations having to collaborate and swim in the same lane only to get this outcome…very disheartening.

Your Say: MacInnes family history
Seeking information on Jessie Gordon McDonald nee MacIntosh
Your Say: Noelene Jenkinson
For many years I have been researching the descendants of Duncan MacInnes, merchant of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, c1778-1832 and wife Margaret MacLean c1796-1853. 4 of their 7 children emigrated to Australia. Their 5th daughter, Margaret MacInnes 1827-1892, married Dr Alexander McDonald 1813-1891 in Scotland.

Your Say: Power price comparisons
Your Say: Cliff Hignett, Naracoorte
(News 24/1/24)
I enjoyed Cr Grundy’s good old fashioned rant about how ‘power prices are ruining local businesses’. (Apparently farmers can’t afford to turn on their irrigation pumps) Most of what he says are worn out rumours that could have come from a Liberal party songbook of 15 years ago.

Your Say: Representative Government
Your Say: Ken Grundy, Naracoorte
It was very refreshing to read in the News (Jan 24th) of the considerable work Cr Peter Ireland had undertaken to gauge the community attitude to the proposed Sporting Centre. If all councillors made the effort to discover the community wish list, we would have less debate and better outcomes.

Your Say: Traditional values
Your Say: Philip Cornish, Bordertown
As a new year begins and we celebrate Australia Day, there is much to reflect on as pressure increases on our Nation to change those values and traditions that have made Australia a great place to live in. The daily news segment clearly reflects a Nation falling apart at the seams.

Your Say: Parking debate
Your Say: David Beauchamp, Naracoorte
I am amused at the on-going hoo-ha regarding the perceived lack of CBD parking. My wife and I have lived here for nearly 20 years, and not once have I not been able to find a parking spot with-in an easy stroll to where I want to be.

Your Say: Poor wheelchair access and information available at the Naracoorte Caves National Park
Your Say: Ivor Wolstencroft
For a World Heritage Site I found on a recent visit to the caves that the service by Rangers was exceptional but the offering for wheelchair users was very poor. Has anyone recently reviewed the wheelchair accessible display (which a visitor pays for) with their very dated “touch screens” at the end of the display.

Immigration levels
Your Say: Ken Grundy, Naracoorte
The Albanese Government has played the three card trick over immigration reduction. First they increased the intake to record numbers and then offer a reduction leaving the intake well above what most people realise could be accommodated.

Lithium battery storage parks
Your Say: Heather Heggie, Naracoorte
I don’t need to remind people how valuable the South East of SA farmland is as it continues to feed thousands and thousands of people. Warm woollen army uniforms and blankets made from merino wool have also protected the democratic freedoms we all enjoy today.
