Bordertown Clay Target Club results – 22 March 2026 There were perfect weather conditions and an excellent crowd of 41 shooters to contest two important events. It was great to see so many of the Maddern family and their friends present to both support and participate in the Will Maddern Memorial event. The day was both an excellent shooting day and social event. Event 1: 40 Target Eastern Zone Mixed Target Championship Comprised of 10 targets double barrel, 10 single barrel, 10 point score, and 5 pair double rise. Kindly sponsored by Elders, Bordertown. The overall winner of this event will be eligible to shoot off at the Eastern Zone Carnival to determine the Eastern Zone Champion shooter for 2026. Naracoorte Market Report – 24 March 2026
Cattle: LWB 21- LWY 351 – LWC 168 – OAY 21 Numbers were back to 570/head this week at Naracoorte, made up of 360 trade cattle, 183 cows, 21 grown bulls, and a few open auction young cattle. Quality was mixed with the regular buying group operating in a generally firm market. Young cattle sold similar to the trade with a few vealer types selling dearer to feeders and a few cents easier for the yearlings. Grown steers sold a few cents dearer with the grown heifers easing to 10c/kg. Heavy cows sold close to last week’s levels easing to 5c/kg in places. The heavy bulls sold to 5c/kg stronger. Young cattle sold to the trade from 388 to 470c and from 350c to 542c/kg to feeders. Plainer types sold from 270c to 330c/kg. Paula, Mel, and Harvey dominate Round 8
Paula and Lily played the match of the night in a very close contest, with Lily winning the first two and then Paula fighting back to win the next two sets to even the scores and go to the deciding fifth set, which Paula won 17-16, although Lily got one more point 66-67 in an exciting long match.
Helen, Suman and Brendan win the night
The first Tuesday night of the autumn season started off between Pepsi and Mountain Dew, the two teams faced off in an early double that lasted five repetitive games.
