Bridge: Leaping Michaels
Leaping Michaels is a variation of Michaels Cue bids, though not exactly a Cue bid itself, as it does not involve bidding a suit that the other side has already bid. Its usefulness is that it is the only way of showing 5-5 in Clubs and the other Major, after opponents have themselves opened with a Major suit. The catch is that opportunities to use it are extremely rare, and your partner may not recognise it when you use it. Ideally, your side is Not Vulnerable and the other side is Vulnerable, and if that is not true, as in this example, you need to have some good High Card Points as compensation, to make it worthwhile. Bordertown Clay Target Club results – 22 March 2026 There were perfect weather conditions and an excellent crowd of 41 shooters to contest two important events. It was great to see so many of the Maddern family and their friends present to both support and participate in the Will Maddern Memorial event. The day was both an excellent shooting day and social event. Event 1: 40 Target Eastern Zone Mixed Target Championship Comprised of 10 targets double barrel, 10 single barrel, 10 point score, and 5 pair double rise. Kindly sponsored by Elders, Bordertown. The overall winner of this event will be eligible to shoot off at the Eastern Zone Carnival to determine the Eastern Zone Champion shooter for 2026.
