A long-standing relationship with late Naracoorte tradesman Ian Hickson has been honoured this week, through the opening of a new Naracoorte office for Group Training Employment (GTE), as the organisation expands across the Limestone Coast. GTE General Manager Greg Megaw said the launch of the Naracoorte CBD base, in addition to the existing Mt Gambier office, will open up greater training and employment opportunities for employers based across the region.

Held at the Lucindale Country Club on Sunday, 18 th February 2024, MGDTA were too strong for an undermanned Southern Ports side. Elected councillor Cathy Langley of the Tatiara District Council has resigned from her position. The outspoken councillor, known for her community engagement work, resigned on January 31 last month. Council CEO Anne Champness said she received the written resignation, effective February 7, 2024.

A warm day at Naracoorte produced some high quality matches. The mixed doubles had the day looking even with three sets going each way. For Naracoorte, Malone/P. Moyle-Read were a standout, taking their double 6-3. Similarly, McKinnon/Legoe were also in form, winning their set 6-1.

Funding sought for Dirt Kart Titles

The Lucindale Karting Club needs financial support to host the 2024 Australian Dirt Kart Titles. Club representatives David Bull and Ian Rowlands addressed the Naracoorte-Lucindale Council’s January 23 meeting on the club’s request for financial support to host the event. According to meeting documents, the club has asked for a very significant contribution from council, comprising a financial contribution of $50,000 (this has been included in the income for the event budget) and an in-kind contribution of $10,000.
