Both Robe teams took home wins, the Roosters happy to return the favour to Naracoorte after their Round 1 loss. The Koalas also took the two points against the Wombats.

Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th the Naracoorte Bowling Club held their annual SeaGas tournament. Players came from Strathalbyn, Horsham, Encounter Bay, Brighton, Geranium, Barmera, Nova Gardens, Millicent, Marion, Yankalilla, Murrayville, Irymple, Port MacDonnell, Kaniva, Mundulla, Victor Harbour, Mount Gambier RSL, Robe, Kingston, Freeling, Lobethal, Keith, Milang, Kalangadoo and four players from the Naracoorte Club filling in for other clubs.

Naracoorte RSL Bowling Club played their round 13 open pennant games last Saturday at home. Division 1 played Mt Gambier Blue and had a nice win. David O’Shaughnessy, Greg Mark, Rohan Burke and Jodie Mark had a tussle to begin with against Deane Wilkinson, but managed a nice 7 on the fifth end to take the lead.

The Millicent and Naracoorte Cricket Association season resume this Saturday after a one-week break for the Adelaide Test. With only four rounds left in the minor round, teams will be getting serious about a push for finals positions from now. Millicent, Lucindale and Rendelsham seem to be a cut above the rest at the moment.

December meeting whets cup appetite

Organisers hope a successful late December meeting has whet local appetites for the 2024 MiniJumbuk Naracoorte Cup next month. Breaking a recent run of back luck, the Naracoorte Racing Club’s December 29 meeting was held in ideal weather conditions, and president Glen Hamlyn said the 250-strong crowd enjoyed the day.
