Lucindale Bowls Club held its Graetzy’s Transport and Synergy Ag Men’s 4’s on 4th February. A very hot day for the comp with full rinks of 14 teams competing, a great turn out. A welcome break for lunch was provided by Marg and her team of helpers.

Last week 20 ladies enjoyed playing 30 boards, a solid afternoon of bridge! E/W direction certainly had the majority of high card points however contracts were played evenly in both directions. Huge congratulations to Shylie Yelland/Vickie Snodgrass who were E/W winners with a fantastic 65.31% followed by Mary Lush/Meredith Lawrie on 53.65% and then Janneen Wishart/Kathryn McCourt on 51.98%.

Naracoorte hosted the Central Magpies in a double header on the weekend. Brady pitched to Callum for the first game. The Rangers kept the Central Magpies scoreless in their first innings. Naracoortes first innings started shakily and were two down when a cracking hit by Ken hit Destin in the ankle.

Last week all Naracoorte RSL Bowling Club’s teams played at home and on Friday the ladies hosted Port MacDonnell. Robyn Hansen, Linda Prentice, Helen Brody and Steve Hansen had a fantastic day against Elaine Pruis’s side and won very easily with 36 shots to 8.

Thursday 8th February Robe Mitre 10 sponsored social bowls. Twenty Five players played 2 games of 12 ends. We had visitors from Kingston and Darwin. There were 4×2 game winners, runner-up on 57 pts were Judy Bermingham and Ron Halam and winner of the vouchers on 59 pts were Ryan Dew and Adrian Bermingham.

Legendary club supporter, the late Don Wray, will be honoured at Sunday’s 2024 MiniJumbuk Naracoorte Cup meeting. The founder of Mini Jumbuk, Don passed away in October, and to honour his outstanding contribution to local racing, the Naracoorte Racing Club has named its committee room after him.
