A Naracoorte thoroughbred with a personality all his own scored his 13th career win at Morphettville on Saturday, lifting his prizemoney tally to almost $400,000.  The Sue Murphy-trained Hasta La Fiorente ploughed through the heavy track conditions to narrowly claim the 2500m benchmark 80 race – the seventh victory with jockey Dom Tourneur on his back.

With the wind and rain starting in the early hours of Saturday morning, the afternoon’s games seemed to be in doubt. However, the rain cleared enough that all games were played and completed. Kingston remain the team to beat, holding off Frances/Lucindale Eagles to win 13-11.

A tricky weekend of tennis with half the teams having to cancel due to heavy downpours in Naracoorte. The Lucindale crews toughed it out in the rain and played on the slightly more forgiving lawn courts. Well done to everyone for a cracking first half of the season.

On Sunday 3rd Dec the inaugural Steve Mark Memorial Fours and pairs tournament was held in beautiful conditions. Twenty teams competed on the day, and clubs represented were Keith, Kingston, Millicent, Mt Gambier, Naracoorte, Padthaway, Port MacDonnell, Robe, and Naracoorte RSL.

The only pennant game played this week for round 10 at Naracoorte RSL Bowling Club, was the ladies on Friday. As temperatures were going to be high it was an early start at Penola. Robyn Hansen, Linda Prentice, Sandra Green and Kirstin Brighton had a tough game against Kathryn Brooks and were nine down at the 15-end short break.

Despite the wet weather the game between Naracoorte and Central Magpies continued as scheduled. Brady Fox pitched and Dawson Fox caught for the first game. Central Magpies were able to get bat on ball but were unable to find gaps in the fielding in their first innings.
