BREVET Sergeant Jason Doig – “Doigy” – was a career country cop, a Ducati buff, a technical whizz who liked instructions and, “the nicest man ever”.
Remembering Doigy, last Tuesday with some of SA Police’s top officials, a crowd of 500 mourners overflowed from barriers of orange flags outside Lucindale Police Station/residence, and spread out across Musgrave Ave.

UNITED by grief, leaders of 26 community groups gathered last Monday at the Lucindale Police Station. Their highly respected police officer Brevet Sgt Jason Doig had gone to a job 120 kms away, and never returned.

BLACK armbands, a minute’s silence, half mast flags, Adelaide State buildings lit up in blue and wreath laying all tell the same story.
Lucindale Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig, 53, went to work and never came home.
Now a State funeral is being planned for the highly respected police officer.

Thunder, lightning, rain and hail last Friday dumped up to 170mm on Naracoorte, causing stormwater to gush into homes, businesses and service centres. Flooded buildings, fallen trees causing blackouts to 300 homes and hailstones the size of marbles to golf balls wreaked havoc. Most rain fell Friday between 5pm and 7pm.

Naracoorte High School’s Agricultural Studies students and staff had a busy show season competing at both the Royal Adelaide Show and Royal Melbourne Show in September. The dedicated teams trained once a week after school and were involved in the whole process.
