Sunrise Christian School

Sunrise Christian School

Sunrise Christian School marked the conclusion of a fruitful academic year with its annual school musical. Taking a nostalgic journey back to the 1970s, the celebration commenced with an entertaining pre-show featuring a fashion parade and a synchronised swimming act.  Titled ‘Tell Me the Truth,’ the musical centred around a TV game show that illuminated the truths about historical biblical figures and their collective role in revealing Jesus to the world.

Kyby women’s footy: Round 1

In a quality, highly contested, well matched game, Kyby played Penola for the first draw of the season. The game was goal for goal throughout, with the Kyby players having a bit of a soft spot for the points in the third quarter.

Meetings and procedure

Your Say: Ken Grundy, Naracoorte
Meeting Procedure
The radio announcement that Council would not purchase the ANZ Bank site was appropriate wording for a news item but the actual resolution at the Council meeting was probably worded differently. Councils or any Committee are to decide things in positive terms.

Naracoorte Rangers Baseball report

By Martin Wirper
Naracoorte hosted the Tigers for their first game after the Christmas break. Ken Sisson pitched to Tom Paech for the first innings. Thanks to some great pitching and good fielding the Rangers were able to restrict the Tigers to one run. Naracoorte were not so lucky in the batting department.

Silly season

Your Say: John Randell
I know that Christmas time can be classed as the silly season, but surely Naracoorte Lucindale Council must win the Gold Logie? In the week leading up to Christmas I witnessed a full road building crew rebuild the 100 metres of Schinckel Road that runs east of Cedar Avenue.

Power pain

Your say: Cliff Hignett
Thanks Nasik Swami for the sage advice in your article ‘Switch it off’ (NEWS 13/12/23). Indeed! The best way to save on power bills is to switch off and save power. What puzzles me, is that in the story, nearly filling the second page of the paper, there was not one word about how to save power or save money on power bills.

Another chance?

Another chance?

By Nasik Swami
Will the electorate of Mackillop give Nick McBride another chance in 2026? If they do, what would this mean for them and for Mr McBride, and will he, as an independent member, be able to put Mackillop on the map for all the decision-makers in Adelaide.

McBride’s choice

By Nasik Swami
Labour or Liberal?
What choice will Nick McBride, the member of Mackillop, make if he holds the balance of power in the next election? The independent member who left the Liberal Party in July, citing ‘dark forces’ and factionalism, seems to have made up his mind.
