Instruction started at 9am for a few women who are learning how the Duplimate Machine works in dealing the cards into the playable boards, then on to setting up the bridge competition on the computer.

When the Naracoorte NewsXpress closed its doors for good in April last year, many who used its services were left baffled and clueless. Today, The News can confirm that the business, which operated from Smith Street, went into liquidation after facing mounting trading losses. Adelaide-based liquidators SV Partners was tasked with carrying out the liquidation process, which is now complete.

Congratulations to Jeff and Emily Palmer on winning the Serviceton Bowling Club Any Combination Pairs Championship. On Saturday 2nd March Jeff and Emily played Bev Makin and Loma Wallis in the final of this competition. This was the third Saturday morning of the competition and was bound to be an exciting match for those who came to watch.

WITHOUT consulting three rural communities, the SA Government has abruptly slashed nursing services to people with cancer, heart conditions and multiple sclerosis. Sick, infirm, and elderly people at Lucindale, Tintinara and Coonalpyn have been told to go to larger towns – an 80km round trip or more – for blood tests, vaccinations, removal of stitches, wound dressings and other nursing services.

Lucy and Tilly Bennet, Ella Croker, Sophie Munro, Eliza and Alice ward and Fliss and Belle Orton and Tahnee Dodgson attended. The girls were decided into 3 groups for Edwina Price to give jumping instructions, which was very kind of her to do in the heat.
