By Mel Tiver. #matessavingmates Inc. is a not for profit group which was started after a founding member lost her husband to drink driving last year. This started a manic desire to try and prevent drink driving from shattering the lives of other families and small communities. We sought the sound advice from a friend with extensive business experience and managed to entice her to join the crew. We then went ahead and created a group that can do what we want it to do, be all about community, education and maybe even save a life. Through fundraising including a social knockout bowls night which will be held annually in Padthaway and generous donations from businesses and corporations we were able to purchase a Toyota Hiace 12 seater bus for people to hire.
