By Sally Bywater. Qualifying Final  A Grade Penola had a strong start creating turnovers and goalies were finishing well. Lucindale’s nerves settled in the second quarter with some great turnovers by Nikki Smart and Holly Ogilvie to bring the scores back to even at the main break, 23 all.  Accurate shooting by both Penola’s goalies saw them having a 6 goal lead coming into the fourth quarter, 38-32. Penola were too strong in the end to finish with a 9 goal win. A Reserves A very closely contested first half with both teams creating pressure down the court. Natalie Twigden was very effective in attack for Bordertown with Sally Skeer creating many options for her shooters in attack for Penola. The third quarter started with many turnovers with neither team taking advantage. The match settled in the last, going goal for goal, with Penola finishing on top. B Grade Border […]
