The Tigers dominated the scoring in the first term, attacking quickly with Packer and Scown featuring, and after a rushed behind Perry and Lowe drove the ball forward where Billy Wiese collected the loose ball on the run and made no mistake. The Moots’ next shot hit the post, then Jarred Wiese, Eamon Staude and Obst worked the ball to Packer who kicked truly, before Weatherald passed to Scown who handpassed to B Wiese who turned and goaled. The Saints recorded a minor score and Mundulla replied in kind before Scown, Obst and Dowling directed the ball to Packer who marked and goaled and at quarter-time the Tigers led 4-3-27 to 0-1-1.
