The Demons scored the first goal when duRand and Scott forced the ball forward and Roti snapped accurately, then Cox, Mitchell and duRand worked the ball to Taylor who kicked truly, before McCarthy directed the ball to Mitchell who made no mistake. The Crows were struggling to get the ball into their forward line, and after the Dees recorded a behind Manalastas, Coronel and duRand locked the ball in their forward line where Scott kicked truly before four more behinds ensued and at quarter-time Naracoorte led 4-5-29 to 0-0-0.
