Border Districts stumbled at the last hurdle before finals in the KNTFL’s round 16 last weekend. Borders have been top of the ladder for nearly the whole year, but lost in a surprise result to Naracoorte in the last round. Meanwhile second-placed Mundulla won a thriller over bottom side Kybybolite to leap ahead of Borders and steal top spot. Borders losing means they will have to face Keith in a difficult qualifying final match-up this Saturday, while Mundulla will enjoy a week off before playing in the following weekend’s second semi-final. Naracoorte came with a plan to be aggressive against Borders and it worked, with the Demons dominating the match after quarter time kicking 14 goals to 4 to win 15.14 to 5.12.
