Border Districts and Kingston won the first two A grade games in the 2023 KNTFL finals series last weekend. In the qualifying final at Penola on Saturday, Borders were too good in the second half for Keith and won 10.11 to 7.7. In the elimination final on Sunday at Keith, Kingston were far too strong for Naracoorte and won 15.10 to 10.11. The results mean Borders advance to this Saturday’s second semi-final, while Keith will play Kingston in the knockout first semi-final on Sunday. The season is over for Naracoorte after their loss. In last Saturday’s qualifying final, nerves would have been high among the Borders faithful with their side not having played finals for many years.
