Naracoorte started very strongly, with a goal to Ashton Reti inside the first minute, before Darcy duRand kicked truly at the two-minute mark, then Tommy Taylor made no mistake four minutes in, and goaled again to give the Demons four goals in six minutes. They kept attacking but the Kybybolite defence rushed two behinds before the Dees’ last shot was another minor score so at the first break Naracoorte led 4-3-27 to 0-0-0. Kyby scored first in the second term, but only registered a behind before the Demons’ T Taylor goaled again, before Pilkington registered the Tigers’ first goal seven minutes in. The Dees replied with two goals to Thraviz Coronel in as many minutes, followed by two more behinds, so at half-time Naracoorte led 7-5-47 to 1-1-7.
